According to Samsung’s statement relayed in the source, Samsung SDI’s Michigan subsidiary signed a 1-gigawatt-hour supply agreement with Alpha Omega Power (AOP). AOP is described as a utility-scale energy-storage developer and independent power producer.
Together with an initial contract signed at the end of the previous year, the two agreements total 1.5 GWh. These figures describe energy-storage capacity, not generation output or a data center’s electrical load.
Samsung SDI will supply its Samsung Battery Box 1.7 integrated storage solution using nickel-cobalt-aluminum batteries. All cells and modules are scheduled to be manufactured at the StarPlus Energy plant in Kokomo, Indiana, with delivery before the end of 2026; the source does not report completed delivery or disclose contract value.
