DataVita secured £300 million to expand one Scottish data center and build another; government guarantees cover 80% of £252 million.

Scottish data-center operator DataVita obtained £300 million, reported as approximately $407 million, from ING, ABN AMRO, and other European banks. The financing is intended to expand an existing Scottish data center and construct a second facility.

The UK government is guaranteeing 80% of £252 million supplied by ING, ABN AMRO, and Santander. This guarantee applies to that £252 million portion, not to the entire £300 million financing package.

The remaining capital will be provided on an unsecured basis by the Scottish National Investment Bank and Siemens Financial Services. The source did not provide interest rates, maturity dates, collateral terms for the guaranteed portion, construction capacity, power figures, or completion dates.

Dell plans to move its Scottish headquarters to the location. The report also associated the investment with the UK’s designated “AI Growth Zone” program.
