Researchers from Washington State University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison published a paper titled “ReVolt: Power Delivery Network-Aware Voltage Droop Control for 2.5D PIM Chiplet Architectures.” PIM refers to processing in memory, while PDN refers to the power delivery network.

The paper addresses 2.5D multi-chiplet platforms that use processing-in-memory technology for machine-learning workloads. Its abstract states that performance is affected by the PDN because current demand varies at the chiplet level.
