Jiangsu and Huawei signed an agreement covering public AI compute centers, public cloud, data infrastructure, and domestic computing ecosystems.

The Jiangsu provincial government and Huawei Technologies signed an expanded strategic cooperation agreement in Nanjing on Aug. 6. The parties agreed to coordinate work on public artificial-intelligence compute centers, urban public cloud infrastructure, and data infrastructure.

Other covered areas include the use of AI in scientific research and social governance. The agreement also addresses the HarmonyOS personal-computer industry, domestic computing-industry innovation, the OpenHarmony ecosystem, and training for digital-technology professionals.

The stated aim is to develop Jiangsu as an “AI+” innovation source and industrial center. The source does not provide committed spending, accelerator quantities, compute performance, power capacity, facility locations, or completion dates.
