· ComputeLabs Research · from the August 8, 2026 edition

China Telecom and the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Aug. 7. Compute-infrastructure construction and next-generation communications networks are two of the agreement’s principal areas.

The agreement also covers industrial digital transformation and the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy. The stated objective is to accelerate Inner Mongolia’s digital economy and industrial digitalization.

The source does not disclose investment commitments, data-center power capacity, server or accelerator quantities, project locations, or deployment schedules. It therefore establishes a strategic cooperation framework rather than specific commissioned compute capacity.
