Anthropic disclosed nearly $900 billion in future infrastructure lease and purchase obligations in IPO documents, covering servers, buildings, and power.

Bloomberg reporting relayed through Telegram describes nearly $900 billion of future spending obligations in Anthropic’s IPO documents. The underlying IPO filing is not included in the supplied sources, so the figure is attributable to that report rather than a directly reviewed filing.
The commitments cover servers, buildings, electricity, data centers, and graphics processing units, or GPUs, through future lease contracts and purchase agreements. The report places the details in the financial-statement notes and distinguishes these off-balance-sheet obligations from liabilities already presented on the balance sheet.
The amount therefore represents reported future contractual obligations, not $900 billion of current borrowings or expenditure already incurred. New Constructs CEO David Trainer characterized such commitments as “hidden debt,” but that is an investment analyst’s description rather than an accounting classification established by the supplied material.
Separately, Financial Times reporting said Blackstone had revised its expectation that Anthropic would obtain an investment-grade credit rating by year-end. Its reported expectation was instead a rating of BB or above, with investment grade potentially unavailable immediately after the IPO; this was Blackstone’s assessment, not an announced rating-agency decision.
