Amazon established a secured supplier-financing arrangement allowing borrowing of up to $80 billion, according to the supplied Telegram report. This is the maximum facility size, not a report that Amazon has already borrowed the full amount.
The company can choose to draw on the facility from early 2027 through the third quarter of 2028. Borrowing is secured against purchased hardware, with lenders receiving liens over some of the acquired assets; the supplied report does not specify interest rates, repayment maturities, or lender identities.
The report also states that Amazon recorded $42.4 billion of free cash outflow for the year ended September 30, following capital expenditure that exceeded expectations. Separately, Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman told Bloomberg Television that Amazon was working with partners on financing expansion while balancing cash flow.
