Counterpoint Research data relayed in the source put global personal-computer shipments at 57 million units in the third quarter of 2026. Shipments declined 21% from the corresponding quarter a year earlier and 13.8% from the preceding quarter.

The report links weaker PC demand to sharply rising memory prices associated with growing AI demand. Counterpoint said consumers postponed purchases despite needs to replace older equipment and migrate to a newer Windows operating system.

Lenovo shipped 15 million PCs, down 23% year over year, while retaining the leading market share of 26.3%. HP ranked second by market share, with shipments of 10.3 million units, down 31% year over year.
