Zhaoyuan Nuclear Power (招远核电) Unit 2 in Shandong began its first nuclear-island concrete pour on September 5. The start of that pour marked the formal commencement of the unit’s main construction.

Approximately 8,800 cubic meters of concrete are scheduled to be poured, an amount described as equivalent to 3.5 standard swimming pools. The work is being carried out at seven pouring points.

The concrete operation is planned as a continuous, single-forming pour lasting approximately 60 hours. The source did not provide the reactor design, generating capacity, expected commercial-operation date, or project cost.
