Bitcoin-mining operator Big Digital Energy (BGDE) disclosed an AI-colocation pivot at the customer-validation stage, without contracted critical-IT capacity.
· ComputeLabs Research · from the November 6, 2026 edition
The SEC-filed presentation explicitly distinguishes powered sites from contracted computing capacity. Big Digital Energy says it remains at the customer-validation stage and currently controls powered capacity, not contracted critical information-technology (IT) capacity. Conversion to AI and high-performance computing (HPC) colocation would require site engineering, definitive customer agreements, financing, and construction.
The proposed pivot builds on its Bitcoin-mining infrastructure. Management plans to use its PJM power footprint and existing sites to engage hyperscalers and GPU-as-a-Service providers, while selling, building, or converting assets and acquiring additional strategic data-center sites. A combined-platform illustration lists 248 MW of grid-connected power and 547 MW of pipeline, includes assets held by the Endeavor Group, and does not establish that those figures are operating AI capacity.
The financing objective is a management target, not a secured facility. The presentation targets $1 billion of project-level and platform financing and discusses creditor settlements, balance-sheet stabilization, and capital-structure simplification. The supplied excerpt does not disclose a closed financing, committed lender facility, collateral package, conversion price, dilution schedule, or definitive AI customer contract.
The presentation’s lease comparisons concern other transactions, not BGDE revenue. Its sample of 13 executed infrastructure leases shows seven at 210 MW or smaller and median base-term contract value of approximately $1.86 million per IT MW per year, within an observed $1.27 million–$2.43 million range. Filing these comparisons establishes that BGDE disclosed them; it does not independently validate management’s strategy or convert peer economics into BGDE operating results.
