Amazon’s chief executive said AWS backlog had reached $578 billion, with triple-digit year-over-year growth. Separate coverage reported that AWS sales growth had accelerated for six consecutive quarters and connected the expansion to customers including OpenAI and Anthropic.
Management forecast AWS growth above 40% in both 2027 and 2028 and stated an intention to make Trainium chips available outside AWS by the end of 2027. These are management forecasts and plans, not realized revenue or a completed external chip offering; the supplied backlog update does not disclose cancellation provisions or a recognition schedule.
