Moonshot AI announced 25% monthly-quota compensation for Kimi subscribers following K3.1 Pro rate limits and unnecessary quota consumption.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the October 25, 2026 edition

Moonshot AI apologized for rate limits and unnecessary quota consumption affecting Kimi subscribers using K3.1 Pro. The company accepted responsibility and said it should have fixed the problem earlier.

All subscription tiers with active memberships were to receive a one-time adjustment equivalent to 25% of their monthly allowance, described as approximately one week of usage. For subscribers whose recorded usage was below 25% of the monthly total, usage would reset to zero.

The company said the usage-progress indicator would reflect the adjustment before the end of the announcement day. It also said configurations had been adjusted and work was underway to reduce unnecessary sub-agent calls and output length, with the stated aim of completing more useful tasks within the same quota.
