Telegram messages citing The Information report that Meta’s internal Claude Code user count recently stood at approximately 30,000, compared with approximately 60,000 earlier in the year. These figures concern employees using the tool inside Meta, not Claude’s overall customer or user base.
Microsoft (微软) had reportedly projected $1 billion of spending on internal Claude AI use. The report says that budget was cut by more than one-third after employees were asked to reduce Claude usage to save costs and spend more time using Microsoft’s own AI tools.
A separate message says Meta was also promoting its internally developed AI tools. The evidence describes internal adoption and budget changes, not a complete ban, a terminated commercial contract, or a measured decline in Anthropic’s recognized revenue.
