Google Cloud’s Z4D, generally available, and Z4M, in preview, provide up to 84,000 GiB and 168,000 GiB of local storage, respectively.

Google distinguishes the two products’ release stages: Z4D is generally available, whereas Z4M remains in preview. Their respective capacity ceilings are 84,000 gibibytes (GiB) and 168,000 GiB of high-speed local NVMe SSD storage, not system memory.
Both offerings provide 400 gigabits per second (Gbps) networking, and Google specifically lists remote direct memory access (RDMA) support for Z4M. The excerpt does not extend that RDMA claim to Z4D.
Google positions the systems for vector stores, operational databases, and large-scale data pipelines queried by real-time AI agents. Its announcement says the throughput reduces input/output wait times and prevents query timeouts, but supplies no workload-specific benchmark results or measured latency figures.
