Petrobras now expects Colombia’s Sirius offshore gas project, jointly owned with Ecopetrol, to start in 2031, following consultation delays.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the November 4, 2026 edition

Petrobras moved the expected operating date from 2030 to 2031. Sirius is an offshore natural-gas project in Colombia’s Caribbean waters, jointly owned with Ecopetrol—not the satellite-radio company Sirius XM mentioned elsewhere in the source feed. The report attributes the revised schedule to delays in the prior-consultation process.

Petrobras’s Colombia head described remaining consultation challenges. Alcindo Moritz said substantial progress had been made but that one or two issues remained unresolved. The supplied report does not identify those issues or say that consultation had been completed.

The partners were targeting a final investment decision by the end of 2027. That final investment decision, or FID, remains a target rather than a completed authorization in the report. The source also calls for planning additional gas-transport capacity, but provides no sanctioned pipeline project, production volume, or link to data-center power supply.
