Huawei’s Kirin 9050-series chips entered mass production, incorporating the company’s new “logic folding” technology.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the October 18, 2026 edition

Huawei disclosed the production milestone at a technology briefing. An Economic Daily report summarized on Telegram said Huawei announced in mid-October that Kirin 9050-series chips using “logic folding” had successfully entered mass production. The supplied account does not describe how that technology works.

Huawei also reported a broader device-shipment milestone. Since Kirin’s return in August 2023, cumulative shipments of devices based on Kirin chips had exceeded 100 million. That figure covers Kirin-based terminal products generally, not shipments of Kirin 9050 chips alone.

The technical disclosure remains limited. The source provides no manufacturing-process node, yield, power-consumption measurement, or performance benchmark for the Kirin 9050 series. It therefore supports the reported production status and broader shipment total, but not a quantified comparison with other processors.
