Google Cloud’s Data Agent Kit reached general availability, connecting coding agents to more than 15 data services through free tools.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the October 9, 2026 edition

Google Cloud reports that Data Agent Kit is generally available as a free collection of Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and Google-authored agent skills. The kit connects coding agents directly to more than 15 Google Data Cloud services.

The source names VS Code, Antigravity, Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex as supported coding-agent environments. It describes use from an integrated development environment (IDE) or command-line interface (CLI), rather than requiring a separate data-workflow interface.

Listed tasks include inspecting schemas, authoring queries, and building end-to-end data pipelines through natural-language interaction. The free designation applies to the collection of tools and skills; the source does not state that consumption of the connected cloud services is free.
