European CPU designer SiPearl delivered its first Rhea1 CPU samples to supercomputer supplier Bull for the JUPITER supercomputer.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the September 22, 2026 edition

SiPearl delivered its first Rhea1 central processing unit (CPU) samples to Bull, with the HPCwire announcement identifying the JUPITER supercomputer as the destination program. This is a processor-sampling milestone, not confirmation of completed supercomputer deployment or volume CPU shipments.

HPCwire describes SiPearl as a fabless European designer of high-performance, energy-efficient CPUs for sovereign supercomputing, AI, and data centers. Bull is the receiving advanced-computing and AI supplier; Rhea1 is the processor, while JUPITER is the supercomputer project.

A separate HPCwire profile traces the company’s origins to Philippe Notton’s work on European processor development: he joined Atos in 2017, led efforts to establish the European Processor Initiative (EPI), and spun off SiPearl in 2019 with European Union support and an Arm-based strategy. The supplied excerpts do not provide Rhea1 core counts, memory specifications, measured performance, or the number of samples delivered.
