AWS made CloudWatch Omni generally available, providing AI-powered application and agent observability with a free integrated development environment extension.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the September 22, 2026 edition

Amazon Web Services (AWS) introduced CloudWatch Omni as a unified observability experience for applications and AI agents. Its announcement lists automatically discovered topology, natural-language queries, and AI-guided investigations powered by AWS DevOps Agent.

A companion AWS post focuses on generative-AI and agentic workloads. It describes tracing, evaluating, and experimenting with agents across frameworks, either from an integrated development environment (IDE) or a standalone web experience, using open standards and built-in evaluators for quality, correctness, and coherence.

FinancialJuice’s summary of the AWS blog reports general availability and a no-cost IDE extension. That pricing statement applies to the extension; the supplied sources do not establish that all CloudWatch Omni services, telemetry processing, or storage are free.
