QatarEnergy is producing very small volumes of liquefied natural gas; the Hormuz crisis has blocked key equipment deliveries.

QatarEnergy’s chief executive said the company was producing a “very small amount” of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The supplied messages provide no production volume or utilization percentage, so the statement cannot be converted into a quantified supply reduction.

The company also reported that the Hormuz crisis had prevented key equipment from reaching Qatar. Its chief executive warned that this could delay some expansion projects, which is a conditional risk disclosure rather than confirmation that every affected project has been rescheduled.

Management’s stated project timetable placed some North Field East (NFE) LNG production trains in 2027 and the start of North Field South (NFS) production in 2028. Separately, the second and third units of the Golden Pass LNG project were said to be scheduled for operation in 2027; these are forward-looking management statements, not completed capacity additions.

The chief executive also said Qatar could restart regular gas operations within weeks once Hormuz reopens, explicitly conditioning recovery on reopening. Related coverage identified him as energy minister Saad Al-Kaabi and reported that Qatar had no current plan to construct a bypass pipeline, citing commercial and technical considerations.
