Hygon (海光信息) announced through its corporate WeChat account on September 20 that it would introduce new chips in Shenzhen (深圳) on September 22. Reporting attributed to 21st Century Business Herald (21世纪经济报道) identified the products as 1000-series central processing units (CPUs) for low-power, embedded, and edge-computing requirements.

The existing CPU portfolio provides the product-line context: the 7000 series addresses high-performance data-center applications, the 5000 series serves mainstream midrange industry customers, and the 3000 series emphasizes cost-effectiveness across multiple scenarios. The reported 1000-series positioning is therefore distinct from the company’s data-center CPU range.

Another message identified robotics, machine vision, and intelligent manufacturing as intended application areas, highlighting real-time response, power consumption, safety, and ecosystem compatibility requirements. The launch slogan included “Let computing reach the physical world” (让算力,抵达物理世界), but the sources provide no specifications, benchmark results, shipment quantities, or prices.
