XCENA presented measured performance for MX1, a Compute Express Link architecture combining memory expansion with near-memory computing.
· ComputeLabs Research · from the August 26, 2026 edition
XCENA presented the MX1 architecture and measured performance at the Hot Chips 2026 Memory session. XCENA describes itself as a semiconductor company developing memory-centric computing solutions for AI infrastructure.
MX1 is a computational Compute Express Link, or CXL, memory architecture. The design combines large-scale memory expansion with near-memory computing rather than treating expanded memory solely as passive capacity.
Harry Kim, XCENA’s chief product officer, delivered the presentation. The supplied source extract does not state the measured benchmark values, workload configurations, CXL generation, capacity, latency, bandwidth or power results, so no numerical performance comparison can be established from it.
