Indonesia cut pipeline gas exports to Singapore by 31 million standard cubic feet daily, redirecting supplies to domestic power generation.

Indonesia’s upstream oil-and-gas regulator, SKK Migas, said the reduction took effect on Saturday, October 24. The cut totaled 31 million standard cubic feet per day, approximately 9% of the pipeline supply described in the report.

SKK Migas head Djoko Siswanto specified reductions of 15 million standard cubic feet per day from Natuna and 16 million standard cubic feet per day from Sumatra. He said gas previously intended for Singapore would instead support the reliability of domestic power-generation fuel supplies.

Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) subsequently said energy supplies remained sufficient. It put the reduction at less than 2% of Singapore’s daily demand; this uses a different denominator from the roughly 9% reduction in Indonesian pipeline supply.
