Memory manufacturer CXMT forecasts RMB131 billion–RMB132.5 billion in January–September net profit, versus a RMB5.28 billion loss a year earlier.

· ComputeLabs Research · from the October 16, 2026 edition

CXMT’s forecast specifically concerns net profit attributable to shareholders for the first nine months of 2026. The company also forecast revenue of RMB265 billion–RMB270 billion, an increase of RMB232.916 billion–RMB237.916 billion from the comparable period.

The company attributed the change to rapid AI-compute demand growth since the second half of 2025 and improving conditions in dynamic random-access memory (DRAM). It reported products in short supply and sharply higher prices, alongside its own capacity development, product research, process improvements, operational optimization, and market expansion.

Separately, chairman Zhu Yiming proposed a RMB1 billion–RMB2 billion share repurchase using company funds or funds it raises. The proposed price ceiling is 150% of the average trading price over the 30 trading days preceding the board resolution approving the repurchase plan, with purchases through centralized bidding on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The repurchased shares could support employee equity incentives, employee ownership plans, or a reduction in registered capital. This remains a proposal requiring board or shareholder approval; the reported implementation period is within 12 months of approval, and purchases may begin only after the company has been listed for at least six months.
