The company described Sol’s performance as approaching Astra’s at one-fifth of Astra’s standard token price. A separate supplied message described cached-input pricing as 95% below standard input pricing; the performance comparison remains a company claim because no benchmark results or evaluation methodology are included.

The rollout covers Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users within ChatGPT Work and Codex from the announcement date. OpenAI also announced an ultrafast Sol version for the following days, which is a planned release rather than confirmation that it was already available.
