OpenAI began rolling out Dots to eligible Pro and Business Premium users, providing independent cloud computing and access to 4,000-plus applications.

OpenAI introduced Dots as an always-on assistant product powered by GPT-6 Astra, with an independent cloud computer and browser. The supplied descriptions distinguish the product name, Dots, from an individual assistant, a Dot, and identify access to more than 4,000 supported applications.

Interaction options include ChatGPT, text messaging, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, with voice interaction through ChatGPT’s web, desktop, and mobile interfaces. OpenAI says Dots can maintain context across applications and devices, learn user preferences from feedback, and perform work such as research, document drafting, and software development.

The rollout is limited to eligible markets and ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium users, with the first Dot included without an additional charge. Users can initially create one Dot; Enterprise users can try a beta after administrator enablement, while support for multiple Dots and higher operating scale remains planned.

OpenAI says users can set restrictions and require approval before specified actions, with an automatic-review feature checking tasks against safety requirements. The company is also working with Microsoft on specialized Dots integrated with Agent 365 governance and security controls; separately announced subscription changes include a $500 Pro tier with higher usage and faster processing, alongside reductions in some allowances on the $200 tier.
