TotalEnergies and Mistral announced a three-year joint program representing an investment of more than €100 million. The stated objective is to develop a new generation of frontier AI models for TotalEnergies’ geosciences experts.
The program covers exploration, characterization, and development of oil and gas reservoirs. Its disclosed application scope is therefore reservoir and geoscience work, rather than an unspecified enterprise chatbot deployment.
The announcement gives a program duration and investment amount, but does not break out each partner’s contribution or spending schedule. It also supplies no GPU allocation, model size, training-compute budget, completed model results, or quantified operational savings.
