A Financial_Express message citing People’s Daily describes Oman’s construction of solar and wind infrastructure. The stated objective is to attract electricity-intensive industries, including data centers, advanced manufacturing, and green, low-carbon industrial operations.
Under the cited plans, Oman’s peak grid load is projected to rise from 9,431.9 megawatts in 2026 to 13,967.4 megawatts in 2030. These are grid-load planning figures, not committed data-center power capacity or new generating capacity.
The plan targets a 45% share of installed capacity from new energy by 2030 and calls for new-energy generation to cover approximately 4% annual electricity-demand growth. Oman also aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050; these are planning objectives, not completed operating results.
