Banks postponed planned $5–7 billion bond refinancing for an Anthropic-linked data center in Hubbard, Texas, following a grid-risk approval pause.

A Bloomberg report relayed through Telegram says lenders led by Morgan Stanley had arranged approximately $15 billion to finance construction of an Anthropic-linked data center in Hubbard, near Waco, Texas. Banks had intended to sell $5 billion to $7 billion to high-yield bond investors in September to refinance part of that lending.

The reported postponement followed Texas’s pause on new-project approvals while assessing grid risks. The delayed transaction is the bond refinancing: the report does not describe a completed bond sale or say that the underlying lending package was canceled.

The source lists a $14.2 billion one-year loan and a $1.4 billion five-year revolving credit facility. These component figures are preserved separately from the report’s approximate $15 billion headline; the supplied material does not reconcile the difference or disclose how much of the revolving facility was drawn.

The report says the postponement leaves banks holding the debt longer than originally planned. It provides no borrower-level collateral details, interest rates, GPU specifications, power capacity, or binding replacement bond-sale schedule.
