NVIDIA and SoftBank (软银) completed their final investments of $10 billion each in OpenAI’s previous financing round.

Telegram reports citing The Information and a SoftBank statement say NVIDIA (英伟达) and SoftBank (软银) each completed a final US$10 billion investment. These payments fulfilled each company’s US$30 billion commitment to OpenAI’s previous financing round, rather than constituting a newly announced round.

The accompanying report says OpenAI disclosed US$122 billion in investment commitments in March at a US$852 billion post-money valuation. It also says Amazon had committed up to US$50 billion and completed its investment in July.

SoftBank reportedly now has US$64.6 billion in cumulative investment in OpenAI and an ownership stake of approximately 13%. Its final payment was partly financed by a US$11.1 billion high-yield bond issuance completed in late September.

Separately, SoftBank said all borrowings under its bridge-financing agreement with OpenAI had been repaid. Effective September 30, it canceled the remaining US$10 billion undrawn commitment under the agreement signed on March 27; that canceled credit availability is distinct from the completed investment.
