China Mobile (中国移动) deployed a 1,024-accelerator-card Huawei (华为) Ascend (昇腾) 950DT supernode at its Beijing cloud node, supporting 256 TB unified memory.
· ComputeLabs Research · from the September 29, 2026 edition
China Mobile’s Beijing operation and its cloud company announced deployment of a Huawei Ascend 950DT supernode at the Mobile Cloud Beijing node in the Information Port data center, Changping District. The message attributes the announcement to Mobile Cloud (移动云).
The configuration contains 1,024 accelerator cards within a single supernode, rather than 1,024 servers or racks. The reported aggregate compute capability is 1 EFLOPS at FP8 precision—one exaflop, or \(10^{18}\) floating-point operations per second, using 8-bit floating-point arithmetic.
The supernode is reported to support 256 TB of unified memory and microsecond-level latency, with large-model training, inference, and agent development identified as supported uses. The supplied report gives no benchmark methodology, workload-specific throughput, power consumption, rack count, or customer-utilization data.
