Google Cloud made Storage Intelligence advisor generally available and expanded storage batch operations supporting actions across millions of objects.
· ComputeLabs Research · from the September 25, 2026 edition
Google Cloud announced general availability of Storage Intelligence advisor alongside expanded storage batch operations. Both features are available now to all Storage Intelligence customers: advisor identifies changes and recommended actions, while batch operations can execute decisions across millions of objects.
Advisor supplies curated findings and charts without requiring customers to build reporting pipelines. Customers enable Storage Intelligence at the organization, folder, or project level, and findings appear for buckets within that scope without designing a schema or assembling a dashboard.
Google reports that the number of customers using Storage Intelligence to analyze datasets exceeding one billion objects has more than doubled this year. That measures customer adoption at a specified dataset scale, not a doubling of stored data or an announced performance improvement; daily activity data and metadata snapshots remain available for customers building custom pipelines.
Shipt described a reduction in the engineering work needed to track usage and investigate anomalies. Its testimonial says native dashboards allow teams to identify usage spikes, inspect details, and remediate unintended usage without configuration, but the supplied excerpt gives no quantified cost or time savings.
