Huawei is testing its AI chips in limited foreign markets while facing constraints on expanding chip production.
· ComputeLabs Research · from the September 17, 2026 edition
Huawei is testing its AI chips in a limited number of foreign markets, according to financialjuice. The report does not name those markets, participating customers, chip models, or the scale of the tests.
A separate message states that Huawei faces constraints in expanding AI-chip production. It does not identify the specific constraints or quantify their effect on output, so the sources do not support attributing them to a particular manufacturing process, supplier, or component.
Another message attributes to a speaker identified only as “Xu” the claim that Huawei has a larger Chinese AI-chip market share than NVIDIA. No percentage, measurement period, or market definition is supplied, making this an attributed claim rather than a quantified market-share comparison.
A later daily roundup also reports the release of an Ascend 960 supernode (昇腾 960 超节点) and a new AI-chip introduction brought forward by nine months. The roundup does not establish that this is the hardware being tested abroad, and a supernode should not be treated as an individual chip.
