Physics-research startup Physical Superintelligence launched with $58 million in seed funding led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

Matt Pines, Alex Klokus and Dr. Alexander Wissner-Gross launched Physical Superintelligence, or PSI, as an artificial intelligence-focused physics research laboratory. The organization is developing computational models and tools for designing and optimizing physical systems.

PSI announced $58 million in seed funding led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures. Dragon Global and Robot Ventures were also identified as participating investors.
