Ryanair signed a five-year cloud agreement with Google Cloud to expand its use of artificial intelligence across airline operations. The airline plans to deploy Gemini tools and Google DeepMind models for tasks including crew scheduling and operational decision support.
Ryanair will roll out Google Workspace and Google Cloud services to 35,000 employees across its global network. The company also plans to use Gemini Enterprise to develop customized AI agents that automate parts of decision-making, optimize crew rosters and reduce operational disruptions.
The agreement supplements Ryanair’s existing use of Amazon Web Services rather than replacing it. Ryanair said using the additional cloud provider is intended to reduce the risk of technology disruption.
Ryanair identified itself as Europe’s largest airline by passenger volume and linked the deployment to its stated target of carrying 300 million passengers annually by 2034. That passenger figure is a company target, not current traffic or a result guaranteed by the Google Cloud agreement.
